So today is my birthday and it has been REALLY good! First it starts a week and a half of relaxation for me, which is a new concept. since i rarely ever relax and am not sure i know how i am trying today to balance relaxation with productivity hoping this helps me. Lately i have been SUPER fatigued and this leads to mean cranky Sara and i want to get back to happy, glowing Sara. So I'm working on it. Anyway so today i got up and babysat like i do every morning, but since it was my bday i took the 2 boys to McDs and let them eat and play int eh playground BEFORE school. They loved it and kept saying this was the best day ever because it was my bday!
Next i had another Sono! usually you're only supposed to get them every 4 weeks, but since i am on A LOT of meds and have been really sick they want me to come in every two weeks at least until my vomiting is under control. I don't mind because i like seeing Baby every two weeks. Today it actually looked like a Baby! We saw the head (it's getting big) and finger and toes and heartbeat! and it's little belly! oh and sucking it's thumb! too cute but that will stop after the first month of life outside my womb! Usually the doc said they move around and it's cool to see but out lazy baby refused to move no matter the provocation. Just like it's Daddy! (there will be more details on my prego blog, i promised i wouldn't do too much info on this one in case some people really don't care!)
Afterthat i went home and showered adn discovered my stomach has turned from bloated to baby bump! SO EXCITED! it's a good reason for my pants to not fit, much better than just being tubby!
Then... I TOOK A 3 HOUR NAP! alone, in my big bed, with no interruptions. it was AMAZING! know i know what my little sister is always talking about... naps rock especially morning naps! Wow do i feel great.
Then it started lightly snowing just enough to make everything look nice. it's the cool movie type snow fall that comes down lightly and cute!
Later i have dinner with the fam and i am hoping at some point to talk to my little sister in Spain, but it's already 9:00pm so i am wondering if that will happen!
Next blog post i PROMISE to post about my new job! i have started training and i already have keys and a name plate on my office door (that is shared with 5 other people)! It's so exciting, but more on that later!
i'm a wife to my amazing husband, mother to one beautiful baby girl working full time (plus) and keeping up a household. This is the chronicles of my life as i learn how to cook, clean, mother and love!

MMMMmmmmm... BACON!!!!!
I have been working recently on being more "house wifey." I am FAR FAR FAR from the housewife type. I'm more of a go getter type. However i have always respected and envied the housewives of the world. My mom stayed home and she made us home cooked meals (that i still beg for from her) and showed us that staying home is more work than a job outside the home. Then my older sister became a stay-home-wife, then a mom. She does cooking and is a bit of an organizational cleaning nut (which i am not) and makes it all seem so easy. When i got married i knew housewife was never an option. Then as i start to think about motherhood the idea of staying home is weird to think about. So tonight there were some happenings that really made me proud, i'm not housewife or stay-home-mother material but it's good to know i can at least feed my family.
So i came home ready to cook (very odd feeling for me because i was really nauseous, but oh well) and the chicken we had... was bad. then the ground beef we had... was bad. So i needed groceries. Since i am between jobs (will post about that soon, i promise) finances are VERY VERY tight this month. So we had no budge for spontaneous grocery shopping i broke into a bank (shaped like a gnome) and counted quarters. The end result was $15 in quarters $5 in nickels and dimes and $7 in ones. i took these to the nearest grocery and bought chicken, ground beef, salsa, cheese, cottage cheese, tortillas and kool-aid (for a friend as a thank you). i go to self-checkout and pull out all my change. Nickel by Nickel and one quarter at a time i pay for my food... all $27 worth. The lady behind me stares in disbelief for awhile and then laughs and laughs and laughs. She is bent over and i FINALLY finish paying then she asks me how long i have been collecting quarters. I tell her my husband and I try to pay only cash for things and that generates a lot of change. Then we have 4-5 piggy banks to distribute it between and it's a nice little surprise when we break into one of them. Se said that's smart and thanks for the laugh.
So then i went home and cooked. i made my mom's Tatertot Casserole and it tasted just like hers! We made enough to freeze 4 meals and leave 3 for the week. Then i tried for the first time making Chicken Enchiladas. I don't really like enchiladas but Kel does. So i made 4 freezer meals and 3 week meals. Kel was so excited about having homemade meals and some frozen for anytime access AND that it cost only piggy bank money that he did ALL the dishes.
It felt good to cook for my family, but it felt even better knowing i don't have to do this everyday. i am exhausted in the best of ways. i love and respect all the women who work in order to provide for their family. i also love and respect all the women who stay home and care for their family in a much different way. It will definitely take a while and a lot of learning/mistakes/adjustments but i am branching into a little bit of both worlds. i will be working an odd and irregular schedule that will allow me a chance to provide for my family while still giving me time to care for them as well.
I am excited to be a working mom who can not only bring home the bacon but fry it up too!

All my ducks in a row!
I GOT A JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!! i am excited, i turned in my two weeks notice at the childcare facility i currently work at. I will have more information about it later, but i really need to sleep because i have orientation and training all week and i HAVE to be feeling good through it all! But i am so excited, big girl job, with big girl pay (although it is a job where you defiantely are in it for the fulfilling feeling that you are making the world a better place and improving peoples lives, you get paid but not so much you make BANK! but LOTS more than i was before!)
Again i am very excited but so overwhelmed. SO much goodness has happened int eh past month i can't keep up and i can't help but feeling like this is too good to be true... then i remind myself i have worked hard all through high school and college and after and i deserve this! It's just a lot to take in during such a short time!

Maybe i should post more...
There has been so much that has happened in the past week it is crazy! i really think i should update this more because it's a lot to post at once! Here goes:
First, everything is great with Baby! We get more excited everyday! my stomach is protruding (in a very different way than it usually does!) and i can't wait to actually look pregnant and not just bloated!
The rest of our updates will be in chronological order so i don't forget anything. Christmas was awesome, it was so good to see my family and to see how spoiled my niece got. Kel and i got a deep freeze, some pajamas, a blow dryer and a couple of gift cards (already used). The present meant very little this year, because the greatest gift we got was the opportunity to go to Midnight (10:30pm) mass with my ENTIRE family. It truly was a testament to how much my family has grown because of our love for God and one another! i know a lot of families in the church have not seen all of us together in a pew for almost a decade, so this was such a blessing.
Anna and the princess tent Aunt Sara and Uncle Kel got her!
(she is so big and such a cutie i can't resist posting a couple of pictures of her.)
next i got to spend time celebrating Christmas with my friends. We have all been a big group since freshman year of high school and it's amazing that we have kept in touch so well and are still all there for each other throughout the years! we had a big party and we got to celebrate the changes that have happened and soon will be happening (MO got Married, I got Married, i got pregnant, K doing well in grad school, J getting engaged-a few weeks after, L getting an awesome nursing job, MT waiting to get engaged, B working after finishing school and settling down) It's amazing how all of us have grown up yet our relationships are stronger than ever! It was so much fun to party and celebrate with them.
The gifts i got from MO in our white Elephant exchange and actual gift exchange!
I just wanted to put up a picture of our tree and lights, it's so awesome to decorate for Christmas!
Next New Year's Eve came and the reality of what's coming up in 2012 hit. Kel and i had a REALLY nice dinner out and then watched a couple of movies and went to bed early. However it was not the events of how we brought int eh new year that made New Year's Ever Special... it was earlier. So we had talked with my parents a few weeks before and discussed our moving out of the townhouse. we have a neighbor who is far from ideal when it comes to an environment for raising children. Kel and i are not even close to financially being able to buy a house. So instead my parents were debating buying a house to rent to us. So on New Years Eve Kel and i inspected a house, fell in love with it, my parents made an offer and they got the house! It is an adorable, perfect, big, spacious house with room to grown more and more! We are so blessed that my parents love us (and spoil their unborn grandchild) and are willing to help us along the way to becoming parents! i cannot explain how blessed we are!
This is the house we move into in March!
(bonus it's one block from one sister and 5 blocks from another!)
While still recovering from the shock of how our lives are blessed we got to have a sonogram and get a picture of the little tyke! It was so amazing to see the heartbeat and hear all was going well. plus the meds for em so i'm not as sick are miracle workers! i was nervous about taking them but i am so glad that i did!
That's our baby
Finally i have had two interviews this week with a company and i'm really excited about this opportunity. of course i am still waiting to hear back, and since i am so good at the waiting game it's going great! haha! But i have a good feeling and if this doesn't work out i am double any efforts into getting a career!
so that is how life has been since Christmas. It's amazing how much has happened. And there's only so much more coming up. Today my little sister leaves for Spain. I am very excited for her but i still am going to miss her a whole heap!It will be weird that she is so far away.My birthday is in two weeks, kel and i leave on a whole week of vacation at the end of the month, plus everything else that is going on. I have waited so long for life to fall into place and i feel like there are only a couple more puzzle pieces before things are too good to be true!
