Hi Ho Hi Ho It's Off to Work I Go

and i am praying it's better than yesterday!

i still love work, but i am finding that there is so much in my life that i lacking right now because of all the changes that have happened.

-i haven't balanced my checkbook in a MONTH! and it's driving me crazy.

-kel and i are DESPERATE for some groceries.... in our fridge right now is V8 (and they are gross, i wont touch them). THAT's literally all there is.

-in the past month i paid every bill 1 day before it was due, usually i pay them 1-2 weeks early

-nothing has been packed in a week, but we get new boxes every day

-we have 5 Christmas decorations still up and around the townhouse

-I am DESPERATE to do a load of laundry. i almost had to go to work in my pajama today because that's all that was clean AND fit!

I need some help. i desperately need someone to come over here and help me get things done, but alas any free time i have to get a person over here to help me i am sleeping. There's no real in-between.

And now, after complaining sufficiently, as part of my lenten promise to myself i am going to think positive.

-baby is getting big! as is my stomach!

-i have not gained a single pound yet (i lost the 2 i have previously gained) with my pregnancy, yet baby is still healthy and growing!

-i quite my second job so i would have more time and energy at home

-i get keys to the new house in 10 days.... so excited to finally start getting the house set up

-we find out the gender of baby in 1 month or less. we are voting for the or less part.

-i got some new makeup, and it's awesome!

-work is great, i love the people! it has it's hard moments, but that's how you know your are doing your job right!

-i went to see this AMAZING speaker at church the past two nights, it was SO good for me to see and hear all he had to say about what my life SHOULD look like!

-it's my niece's 1st birthday! her party is on Saturday! i am really excited because i haven't been invited to a birthday party in a LONG time!

so yeah, there are a lot more of both positives and a few negatives, but this post has been random enough for mow, plus i have to get to work!

Life of a hermit

So as MANY people have noticed recently i am a bit of a hermit. for the past two months i have avoided going out in public unless i absolutely have to (work). I have only been grocery shopping once, and i love grocery shopping. I hate being a hermit, but i've been so sick lately that going outside my townhouse seems aweful. i just wanna curl up and sleep.

Since i have started this new job i have been forced to get up and get moving every day, for 8+ hours a day. it has been really good for me, but exhausting at the same time. When i get home i am supposed to be helping my husband pack up boxes for our big move in March. Instead i march straight upstairs and lay in bed. I have gone to bed before 8:00 multiple times in the past week.

So yesterday (with the help of a great friend) i lifted up my hermit veil and went out in public. We got pedicures (finally used a gift card i have had since beginning of December) and we had box tickets to a hockey game. I made sure i was doped up on my anti-nausea meds before and we were off. It was a great day. Kel got to tag along at the hockey game after our girly afternoon. I ever saw all my old coworkers there and my parents, one of Kel's friends, and my cousin and his kids and my new boss. It was a great evening out. However it took it's toll on me. We got home at 6:30 and i was in bed watching "How to train your dragon" before 7:00. I was asleep before 9.

Having a good and eventful day yesterday reminded me of how much i miss people and fun activities and doing things. I am hoping to get out a bit more often and DO things! However this morning reminded me why i havent been out and about. I got up at 5am for my 6am hours and was sick FOR THE ENTIRE HOUR! it felt like i had partied too hard. So i rearranged my schedule so i could come in at 8 today instead and am taking 2 hours to sit and calm my body down.

I might not be ready to "unhermit" myself yet, but very very soon i am hoping to do something. Maybe after the move is done and work has settled.

The JOB!

So i PROMISED i'd post about my new job... so here it is! First i am obligated to say that "all my opinions are my own and do not reflect the image or values of the company." There, i hope everyone knew i speak for myself, but just in case now we are covered.

So i am working at a company (i'm going to be using a lot of discretion, so sorry about all the codes, but this is the internet and if you talk to me i can tell you where i work but legally i have to be VERY careful what gets put on the internet) that supports people with disabilities (from now on known as PWD) to live life to the best means possibly. our mission is about making sure that PWD are treated like PEOPLE and are given the care, respect, and opportunities that every human life deserves. I actually am a house supervisors for one of the houses that the company has. 6 people live there and have a staff working with them 24 hours a day 7 days a week to give them care, love, support, guidance and respect. It's a REALLY amazing program and i am SO SO SO happy to be working in a job that not only shows the world what i believe but that also helps me make a difference in a person's life EVERY DAY!

So pretty much i am still in training. i am training how to take care of people and then after that i am getting trained on how to supervise a staff. once that is over i am finally starting to get in the groove of things.

This job makes me feel so good already. the women and men that i care for are so much fun and such amazing people. the staff are good, hard, organized workers and i have been told a few times that i am lucky with the house i got because everyone is so amazing!

However these people are amazing and i am so excited to be a part of their life.  It feels so good to have a job i love and a job that MEANS something to me. It makes all the difference waking up in the morning and i am sure it will make it so much easier to go back to work after Baby because i actually WANT to work for more than just a paycheck (although those are nice too).
