So i PROMISED i'd post about my new job... so here it is! First i am obligated to say that "all my opinions are my own and do not reflect the image or values of the company." There, i hope everyone knew i speak for myself, but just in case now we are covered.
So i am working at a company (i'm going to be using a lot of discretion, so sorry about all the codes, but this is the internet and if you talk to me i can tell you where i work but legally i have to be VERY careful what gets put on the internet) that supports people with disabilities (from now on known as PWD) to live life to the best means possibly. our mission is about making sure that PWD are treated like PEOPLE and are given the care, respect, and opportunities that every human life deserves. I actually am a house supervisors for one of the houses that the company has. 6 people live there and have a staff working with them 24 hours a day 7 days a week to give them care, love, support, guidance and respect. It's a REALLY amazing program and i am SO SO SO happy to be working in a job that not only shows the world what i believe but that also helps me make a difference in a person's life EVERY DAY!
So pretty much i am still in training. i am training how to take care of people and then after that i am getting trained on how to supervise a staff. once that is over i am finally starting to get in the groove of things.
This job makes me feel so good already. the women and men that i care for are so much fun and such amazing people. the staff are good, hard, organized workers and i have been told a few times that i am lucky with the house i got because everyone is so amazing!
However these people are amazing and i am so excited to be a part of their life. It feels so good to have a job i love and a job that MEANS something to me. It makes all the difference waking up in the morning and i am sure it will make it so much easier to go back to work after Baby because i actually WANT to work for more than just a paycheck (although those are nice too).
